Syria's economy is set to receive a significant boost as the country signs a landmark deal with Chevron and a Qatari investor for the development of its first offshore oil and gas field. The CEO of the Syrian Petroleum Company, Youssef Kabalawi, emphasized the deal's importance, stating that it will be the most significant offshore energy exploration deal in Syria's history. With mobilization and drilling expected to commence before the summer, the project aims to tap into gas reserves that could take up to four years to reach.
